Each session is the maximum of an hour. The sessions are tailored to fit into a teaching period. We can accommodate up to the maximum of 8 sessions in a 2 form entry primary school. A 1 form entry school would be 4 sessions of an hour each. We work with the schools and decided the best timings for each school. In Secondary schools, a session can be delivered for each teaching period, again this would typically mean 5 VR sessions a day.
VR Workshops covers Berkshire, Surrey, SE London and Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hampshire. Please email to find out more.
Here at VR Workshops we bring all in one headsets, these are the very best quality and ensure an awesome experience. The headsets are centrally controlled from a device by the workshop teacher. The headsets last 3 hours and need to be charged during the lunch break. The headsets are transported in hard suitcases and are charged from this unit.
Ideally, It’s more efficient for the workshops to take place in the same space. This means less time is wasted moving form class to class and setting up each time. We often work in halls and libraries. We cannot work outside as the headsets are not for use in direct sunlight. We will of course work from classroom to classroom if that is the only option.
Our sessions are suitable for KS2 upwards. Our sessions are mindful of the time spent in one go in Virtual reality experiences. There are frequent breaks to further to learning opportunities. KS2 children share headsets between 2, this naturally breaks up the experience and KS3 upwards have one headset each and spend no more that 20 minutes in VR at any one time.
Our workshop facilitators are run by teachers, who are experienced in classroom management and lesson delivery. Our staff have DBS certificates and QTS.
